More adventures of the most open and transparent administration in history: Confiscating donor cell phones before fundraising dinner

johnrlott.blogspot.com | | 2012-05-17 11:43:15

Even former Hillary Clinton staffers are calling this policy "absurd." It just goes to show you how hard it is to campaign when you are constantly saying something in public that tries to hide how incredibly leftwing a person really is. Reason.com has this: Pool reporter David Nakamura of the Washington Post reported that at a $35,800 a head fundraiser at the home of Blackstone COO Hamilton “Tony” James in New York City Monday night, the 60 attendees were asked to place their phones in plastic bags by the door. An Obama aide called the move it "standard operating procedure," but veterans of... Similar News >>

America’s Necessary Loyalty to Human Freedom

blog.heritage.org | Ericka Andersen | 2012-05-17 11:43:15
There aren’t many people who justify comparisons to Nelson Mandela, but longtime Burmese political dissident Aung San Suu Kyi is one of the few. For 20 years, Kyi incurred imprisonment, house arrest, and other forms of detention for attempting to bring democracy to the military-ruled Burma. This month, she is free and standing for parliament after erecting a pillar of freedom to her country through her political party, the National League for Democracy. Kyi has won the Nobel Peace Prize and is a powerful example of persevering, peaceful dissidence coming … MoreSimilar News >>

joshuapundit.blogspot.com | | 2012-05-17 11:42:55

Back in 2006, I wrote about Daniel Wultz, a sixteen-year-old American teenager who was murdered in a homicide bombing perpetrated jointly by Islamic Jihad and Fatah's al-Aksa Martyr's brigade while he was eating lunch at a felafel restaurant in Tel Aviv. Ten other people died in that attack, and others were severely wounded.Six years later, the Wultz family has finally won a judgment against jihadi sponsors Iran and Syria for $323 million. The ruling came because it was proven in court that Iran had financed the operation and Syria had allowed the murderers to train on its soil.News of the ju... Similar News >>

Is the Great Bedbug Scare Over?

nymag.com | | 2012-05-17 11:42:44

It's nearly summer, and at least since this magazine published its exposé of the Upper East Side's bedbug problem in 2010, that has meant the return of bedbugs, and more important, the return of bedbug hysteria. Bedbugs, we've come to realize over the last few years, are everywhere. Even the ... More » Similar News >>

Time to make some noise for marriage equality

norightturn.blogspot.com | | 2012-05-17 11:42:41

John Key's response to being questioned about his position on same-sex marriage? He's "not personally opposed" to it and that there is no "clamour" for it. DPF of course is disingenuously trying to spin this as support, but its a long way even from David Shearer's lukewarm statement. Sure, he's not opposed - but its not as if he's going to do anything to make it happen either. Its just not a priority for him (unlike, say, giving our assets to his rich mates). As Emma puts it One thing Key has admitted: there are no legitimate arguments against gay marriage. Just a lazy feckless governmen... Similar News >>
